Connecting with a Camera![]() Wildlife, ecosystems and cultures balance my photography like a 3-legged African stool and explain my current focus: No Water No Life ®. Combining photography and science, this project highlights the vulnerability of freshwater resources in N. America and Africa. My most recent photos are from the US Southwest of the Rio Grande, Georgia O’Keefe scenes and the Border Fence. This fall I will document Kenya and Tanzania’s Mara River for No Water No Life. Its deforestation, dams, population growth, pollution and agribusiness threaten the Mara/Serengeti ecosystem and wildebeest migration. My African conservation involvement began in 2000 with Kenya’s Mara Conservancy, community-based management where tourism supports both wildlife and Maasai. It now needs help until the economy and tourism recover! I also support African People and Wildlife’s support of lion and Maasai in Tanzania.
