     The story of Africa is anchored by some of the world’s largest lakes and longest rivers. These waterways spill out the message “No Water – No Life!” But today they are unable to supply enough clean, fresh water to quench Africa’s thirst. Global warming melts glaciers, deforestation erodes topsoil, and river silt kills lakes. At Victoria Falls everyone marvels at the power of each drop of water and the energy created in their coming together. We must find that same cumulative energy to foil the dire predictions of illness, death and wars caused by water pollution and scarcity.

This 60-page, hand-bound journal depicts and describes the values of Africa’s waterways, today’s threats to availability of clean water, and solutions to maintaining this vital resource. The journal has lined pages for personal entries. Alison’s photographs have been taken on over 20 safaris, beginning in 1985. Price $150.
